Tincture Lecture Slides
First I'd Like to thank all of you being a part of the Expo and coming to Listen, Learn and Participate!
After the Lecture I was asked about the best books to buy/borrow to learn about the plants and medicines you'd like to make.
Before I make that list I Have to tell you that Positively Identifying the plants that you will utilize is the Most Important thing you can do.
Learning each plants constituents, How it will affect your body and any Possible Contraindications (potential hazards, drug interactions etc) is extremely important.
1 of the 1st Books I ever purchased was a Peterson Field guide. There are a Lot of plant look alikes and when they are in different stage of growth it can be very deceptive. There are fields guides for every section of the US. And the best part of that is, you can buy seeds for the plants you would like to cultivate and use for Herbal Medicine.
I personally purchase a Large amount of my seeds from Strictly Medicinal Seeds, https://strictlymedicinalseeds.com/product-category/seeds/
Here are some of the books I own and think are Great resources;
The Herbal Apothecary by JJ Pursell
The Modern Herbal Dispensatory by Thomas Easley and Steven Horne
Making Plant Medicine by Richo Cech
Botanical Safety Handbook by American Herbal Products Association
Grow Your Own Herbal Remedies Maria Noel Groves
If you are looking for courses on becoming an Herbalist, 1st look at the American Herbalists Guild
They have a list of schools that are approved by the association.
Now onto the slides.
